How St Lucia's new Community Garden in Lex Ord Park South has come to be. The project is funded by a Lord Mayor's Community Gardens Grant, two major Walter Taylor Ward SEF grants (via the steadfast support of Clr James Mackay), large cash grants from Maiwar MP Michael Berkman and the SLCA, plus in-kind support from Bunnings Indooroopilly and our good neighbours Hillstone St Lucia. Our first batch of sweet, crumbly, nutritious and chocolatey compost hand-sieved into the prettiest compost bags I have ever seen. We plan to charge something like $10 a bag of about 10kg of compost. Just as soon as our bank account is up and running through Bank Australia. Myself, I'd be hanging these bags on a wall after they were empty.
